Lucy Kuzemka, Campus Minister

Lucy found the Newman Center in 2010 as a freshman at UMSL studying Biology. It quickly became her favorite place with new friendships, two weekly Masses, and a chapel where she could spend hours drawing or journaling in front of the Tabernacle. Throughout college, it was the place she felt completely welcome to just be herself and to love God. Upon graduating, Lucy decided to do a year of service with the Vincentian Mission Corp and was hired as the Campus Ministry Intern at Newman. She learned in that year about ministry, her gifts, and the needs of the poor and marginalized. She was hired after as a full time Campus Minister at Newman, where she works with students to help them find God in their day-to-day. In faith, Lucy is most passionate about seeing the dignity and beauty of all people, and she loves to find God in everything. If you would like to meet or talk with Lucy, she may be reached at

Kevin Peck, Campus Minister

Kevin joined the UMSL Newman community in 2017, coming from his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While studying Civil Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the local Newman Center made quite an impression on him and he joined the Catholic Church on Easter 2014. After graduating he wanted to give working for Jesus a bit of a try, and spent a year as a College Campus Missionary for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. During that year Kevin fell deeply in love with Christ and the beauty, history, and knowledge of the Catholic faith, and felt called to continue on in lay ministry.  Kevin may be reached at
